the yesterday blues, take 2

i'm in the arctic circle,
the sun never rises
night is never ending
since my baby stopped pretending

the yesterday blues
i got the yesterday blues
beg steal or borrow
i can't see tomorrow
i got the yesterday blues

she hugged me and she squeezed me
she made me gasp for air
then pawed me and clawed me,
she was a polar bear

the yesterday blues
i got the yesterday blues
beg steal or borrow
i can't see tomorrow
i got the yesterday blues

i was laid down in cold ice,
i was laid low in snow
my mind, soul and body
frozen from bare head to toe

the yesterday blues
i got the yesterday blues
beg steal or borrow
i can't see tomorrow
i got the yesterday blues

This is excellent verse. It is deeply felt, it's compacted, it's perfect in rhythm and metre, and it is so lyrical. I want to hear these verses set to music and sung!

Too much!

Agreed with Gardenia. This is a blues standard incubating.

Elvin Bishop or Lonnie Brooks -- to whom should I send these lyrics? How about Ann Cole?
